I was thinking this might happen today and replaced with a Sunday Sun (isn't that already a Newspaper brand in the North East).

I hope advertises don't let them get away with it that easily.

OK it hasn't been confirmed yet about a Sunday Sun, but I think it's bound to happen now.

According to a pal, thesundaysun.co.uk (and .com) was registered two days ago.

Presumably most of the staff will be former News of the World.

It's a shame it didn't happen the other way round really, I don't think they'd have been so quick to close the Sun.

As far as I'm aware, the domains registered are http://www.thesunonsunday.co.uk and http://www.thesunonsunday.com - I doubt very much that they could get away with calling it the Sunday Sun as Wells rightly says there's a local rag called that in the North East.

Either it's that paper presciently protecting its brand against any NOTW rebrand, or it's a cybersquatter, or it's Murdoch.

I think they will wait six months and call it something like The SUNday.

And will be made by most the people who made the NoTW.

I'd place my bets on it being an enterprising individual registering those domains rather than News International. For a start they're registered using 123-reg, while News International have their own registry. Secondly, two days ago the situation was probably salvageable.

I saw this coming, to be honest. But now its just a matter of time. How long do we all think it'll be before NOTW's succeeder will launch?

It's curious that NOTW isn't trending on twitter as every other tweet seems to be about it.
