as some of you may have noticed this case has taken a rather interesting turn. i see that the daily mail is no longer referring to chris jefferies as 'the strange mr jefferies', the 'mad professor' etc.

there is still something quite troubling about how this case is being reported though.

for instance, this story http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-12113482 about a girl who's been missing since around the same time as jo yeates has received no coverage as far as i could see until today... but why? a 14 year old girl disappearing would have been even more alarming than a 25 year old.

i don't know, it just sits uncomfortably. pretty white woman syndrome?

The new post-Madeleine McCann mentality of the bereaved getting their names, faces and (more importantly as far as Max Clifford and "journalists" are concerned) tears into the papers and on telly is rather sickening in its own right.

Also I'm with Gavin - A&S Police were well within their rights to exclude ITV News from their pressers... their presence is a privilege, not a right.
