The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
American Megatrends, there's a logo I haven't seen in a while
Chaos at Asda yesterday. They couldn't take card payments. Cue abandoned trolleys and a rush on the ATMs.

That photo that is allegedly outside the Trafford Park store is definitely not there. I go there often enough to recognise the view near the cash machines.JAS84 wrote:Chaos at Asda yesterday. They couldn't take card payments. Cue abandoned trolleys and a rush on the ATMs.

Having previously worked for a large supermarket chain for a number of years and experiencing card payment failures I can feel the pain of the staff.JAS84 wrote:Chaos at Asda yesterday. They couldn't take card payments. Cue abandoned trolleys and a rush on the ATMs.

Have the Co-op rebranded any of their 'Simply value' range under the new logo yet? The new 'Irresistible' stuff (they've ditched the 'truly') looks very nice, -!; I've noticed that they're getting rid of 'loved by us' as the standard brand also.
And my local Asda had trouble two days in a row. Got evacuated when the fire alarm went off!

Here here - I remember the Christmas Eve when all Visa Electron cards stopped working and so the queues for the half-dozen ATMs in the shopping centre were all insane for about an hour before they all ran out of cash.Ant wrote:Having previously worked for a large supermarket chain for a number of years and experiencing card payment failures I can feel the pain of the staff.JAS84 wrote:Chaos at Asda yesterday. Was in Tesco the other day and noticed that the Nutri-Grain packaging now has 'breakfast' under the name. Similarly in the same aisle, all of Belvita's range of products have 'breakfast' underneath the name. Is this some sort of regulation or just a coincidence?
Looks like Tesco might be changing their corporate font - the New Year sale POS is completely different:
