Have to say I'm surprised TVF isn't HTTPS yet - esp given its on much fancier hosting than we use.

I moved here over in January when Google announced they were going to start flagging sites that asked for passwords via HTTP as not secure.

Try going to https://tvforum.uk instead - there is an SSL certificate for the site issued by GlobalSign but the site is only partially secure, which I would hope mean that logins are secure but images and other media are not.

edit: further investigation seems to suggest this is because the links to images and YouTube thumbnails in the stylesheets are http:// and not https://… seems an easy fix

The problem is, of course, with hotlinks. Anything on the upload service since january will be https (or redirected to) but anything older or from other sites won't be.

It's an issue we have on here too. Go to an earlier page in long threads and you'll get mixed content warnings.

The current chat on the phpBB forums is to use a proxy for all the images so they're all re-rendered via your own server however that would require node.js which I don't get on shared servers and I'll be fucked if I'm paying double my current costs just for that.

Cityprod has been at it again, it seems. I don't know what he was responding to, but he said it was as funny as cancer, after which the whole discussion disappeared.

Oh, just another huge overreaction then.

I'm not sure Cityprod would take it well if he was called a societal cancer every time he posted bullshit.

His response to the BBC Select music mock was typically.....well, typical.

What do you mean, typically typical? I gave an honest appraisal, just like everybody else did.

This forum's obsession with me is starting to get a little creepy.

The mobile view doesn't seem to work for me anymore. Something funny with my phone, or is it the same for everyone?
