That reminds me. Viking Direct have their dear Ian Helford, Chairman on the front of their catalogues and he's formed part of their brand image. However his days are also numbered, and they've now resorted to calling him "Chairman Emeritus". What are they going to do when he does -- "Chairman Moritus" or something?

Am I the only one who doesn't really care what the Pope had for breakfast?

I'm thinking of phoning up Radio Sheffield tomorrow and saying "I had cornflakes this morning." maybe it will be breaking news?

I'm just wondering why all the media outlets are using the term 'tracheotomy', when, in practice, most doctors say 'tracheostomy'. Indeed, a quick glance at a few of my medical textbooks shows that most - particularly the more respected ones, like the Oxford Handbook - don't even list 'tracheotomy', using only the alternative. And yet almost everything I've read or seen about this uses the relatively more obscure term. Any ideas as to why?

Just thought it might be the right time to bump this one back to the top.
