Out of interest, how do you pronounce the word chav? Is it as it looks or 'ch' as in champagne (or lambrusco in a chav's case ;) ) or is it 'charv'? Mind you, I get told off by northerners as "There's no 'r' in master!"

ch-a-v

"ch" as in "chair"
"a" as in "bat"
"v" as in "vine"

No wonder people look at me strangely when I talk about "shavs"...

As for that Scots phonetic page, that's almost as laughable as Ulster Scots (opening new can of worms...)
