bandits would be the term as Chris said, for gambling. Generally the word bandit is used to describe a fruit machine.

snake - I am not sure, maybe refering to drink?

I'd say it's something more illegal than drink. He doesn't sound like a very nice person and I hope this time your sis might wake up and smell some coffee!

How people can drinky Snakey B I don't know. One of the deputy head boys at my school drinks them by the gallon. Needless to say I'm scraping him off the floor after one. In a word, lethal!
