Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

I wonder if this targets the Shell sites that were sold off earlier this year. I believe they will continue selling Shell fuel for a few years.

Re: Postal Service

Thanks for those replies. It seems madness the distance post travels when it is staying within a town. Interesting to hear that the USO is being breached but I wonder if there is any sanction against Royal Mail for it.

Postal Service

I have a strange question and hoping the knowledge of the forum will be able to answer it. In my part of the world Royal Mail recently closed, I believe, the sorting office in Cambridge. The work was split between Peterborough and Chelmsford depending on the postcode. I was wondering if you post a l...

Re: Adverts that irritate and entertain

Of course it's the bankers fault - no one should ever have to take responsibility for their own actions.

Re: Migrating broadband provider and upgrading to fibre

Thanks for your replies and I agree the router situation can be silly. While Plusnet provide a very basic router I believe, unlike some providers, they are more than happy for you to use your own.

Migrating broadband provider and upgrading to fibre

I currently have ADSL broadband with Sky and I'm now looking at changing to Plusnet but also upgrading to FTTC at the same time. I was wondering if anyone has been through this process though perhaps with other providers? Am I looking at an ADSL migration from Sky to Plusnet followed by an upgrade t...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Free bananas for all! I think the new card machines at Tesco are less fussy about when you present a card - in fact, am I right in saying that you can tap a contactless card without having to press the card button? I didn't realise that Tesco had rolled out contactless to self service. I'd seen the...

Re: Yet another phone thread

I note, visiting http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/ now redirects to the EE site and Orange are not accepting new customers online. Wonder if they're planning on killing the legacy brands soon. I'm surprised to has taken them so long but when I upgraded to the S5 you could still remain on T-Mobile. The cos...

Re: Juries for long running trials.

Thank you all for the information. It does seem that the allowance could mean a lot of people could suffer financially. Of course it depends on your employer and whether they pay you throughout your jury service. I believe my employer pays full pay less the amount paid by HMCS. Of course they requir...

Juries for long running trials.

I was wondering if anyone knew how juries were selected for long running trials. I know certainly in England and Wales juries are selected at random and for trials of a between a day and up to two or so weeks that all seems generally manageable for most businesses, albeit probably inconvenient. How ...
