Re: Another High Street Rebrand
I'll nip along to Long Eaton and report in when I can. It's already one of the nicer Asdas around here, and we often pop in to the Company Shop in town too.

Re: There an election this year.....
Young people won't vote for them because they won't want to do it. And that's the crowd they need to vote for them. The all powerful under-18 vote? Stuff sure is different in Hull. 18-21 was what I had in mind there. ...but they wouldn't have to do it, surely? I'm not a fan of this policy, for clar...

Re: There an election this year.....
Not even been a week and the Tory campaign has gone horribly. National service? Are they trying not to get votes or something? Young people won't vote for them because they won't want to do it. Re: There an election this year.....
It's an incredibly poor bit of politics. Undeliverable, designed to appeal to idiots and probably exactly the sort of stuff that'd put off their core 'family' (read - grandparents) voter base off. Blows my mind that this is what they chose to "reset" with after the day off yesterday. They ...

Re: There an election this year.....
I don't think that we will have a Conservative Government, come the 4th of July I'm not sure what course of events could cause there not to still be one up to and including the morning of the 5th. Through a huge coincidence, everyone in the nation forgets to vote, except one voter in Newcastle who ...

It reminds me of the Sky 2008ish logo change, in that it's such a subtle change you end up wondering why they even bothered.AGuyFromUpNorth wrote: ↑Tue 21 May, 2024 19.33 Primark have rebranded:

Was there actually any point in changing the logo?

Re: Another High Street Rebrand
"that's more like it" is such a shit slogan for a supermarket.
I thought Asda was meant to be moving upmarket? Cartoony/fun branding does not seem compatible with that aim, but then neither do most things about the Asda brand.

interesting to see that while Amazon are phasing out the 'just walk out' from their own stores, they're licensing it elsewhere: https://www.mkfm.com/news/local-news/milton-keyness-first-checkout-free-store-using-amazons-just-walk-out-technology-opens-at-unity-place/ I suspect you posted on the wron...

I agree, it'd be weird. It's not a prediction, but I think whatever happens will be something of that ilk.Charlie Wells wrote: ↑Mon 13 May, 2024 11.20I think that's highly unlikely to happen, in part due to the first past the post electoral system.
