Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board
I agree with both you and Gav here, it is a lot of time he's exerting into it, smacks very much of nothing better to do, but nobody's perfect! Off on a tangent but I notice a large proportion of TVF seem to be out of work - this could simply be them making no reference to it - a lot also seem to be...

Re: The Coffee Thread
Lately I've been enjoying Lost Edinburgh (a group on Facebook) which features lots of pictures showing just how many Tearooms there used to be in the city. From the comments, one would conclude that an awful lot more was served than scones and jam. But one way or another I suppose it all stems back...

Re: The Coffee Thread
Is there a reason why none of these places, with their no doubt weeks of intensive training that must surely be required to become a "barista", can make an acceptable cup of tea? It's like getting a coffee in a Tea Room, I suppose. I always thought Tea Room referred to the meal rather tha...

Re: The Olympics
Oh yes, there's only one new venue, I forgot. Oh, wait... Sorry, forgot about the massive demand in East London for an Olympic size velodrome - and look forward to the council paying to maintain an Olympic size pool. Give it a few years, it'll all be flattened. The Olympic Stadium and the Aquatics ...

Re: The Olympics
The idea of an "Olympic legacy" is utterly laughable. You're genuinely going to bore your grandkids with tales of how once upon a time an old woman carried a flame through your town? That's the most exciting tale you have to tell your kids? Wow. I'm pretty sure the Olympic Legacy is more ...

Re: The Coffee Thread
- Can I get a large black coffee? - A what? - Large black coffee. - Do you mean a venti? - No, I mean a large. - Venti is large. - No, venti is twenty. Large is large. In fact, tall is large and grande is Spanish for large. Venti is the only one that doesn't mean large. It's also the only one that'...

Re: The Coffee Thread
Costa is literally the British Starbucks (to a good extent). I'm not a coffee drinker, or a tea drinker, but their huge mugs of hot chocolate are lovely, and expensive.
I rarely drink hot drinks, but if I get a hankering when out, it's Costa over anything else.

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread
I once had a job CLEANING supermarket toilets. Were people as interested in your rota as on the rota threads? I think that's too specific. Perhaps there could be a discussion about all toilet habits. Although that may not be particularly desirable, and also all the talk of shite may result in too m...
