Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

Morrisons is a bit different in this regard I suppose - if it's not Savers branded, it's a brand that's named after one of their sites or a company they've bought out (and the packaging is otherwise identical). Ah, yes. I don't live that close to a Morrisons so forgot about them and the Saver range...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

You'll probably be aware that Asda's Smart Price range got some publicity lately as it was fully restored to stores following a reversal of an earlier decision to withdraw some of the range (and increase prices of some products). Wandering round a non-Asda shop earlier, I did wonder whether any of t...

Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region

So the NX/Stagecoach merger (takeover) is confirmed as going ahead . I lied. Well, maybe. The Competition & Markets Authority still wanted to look into it, and in the meantime another offer came in so Stagecoach has provisionally agreed a sale to DWS Infrastructure. More info . NX look like the...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

Sainsbury's are closing the majority of their Cafe's - some to be run by external companies such as Carluccio's or Starbucks. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-60574697 I noticed there's a new range of Carluccio's pizzas and expensive ready meals in the chilled aisle at a larger store near me. Wo...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

Hmm. I've been getting "5x additional bonus points when you spend.." in the app for the last three weeks. Week 1 the qualifying spend was £40, but then £20 for the last two weeks. I also got a Catalina coupon from the printer at the checkout last week that just says "thanks a bunch, h...

It is a treat, but full credit to woah who picked up on this image set further up!

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

that store is oddly large in general. was it formerly a sava centre perhaps? do you need to be a costco member to use their petrol station? The entire infrastructure around straiton and its retail parks is horrendous. You probably already know there has been a Sainsbury's (and a former Homebase - w...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

Sainsburys at Straiton in Edinburgh (next to ikea) has finally had its disaster of a canopy replaced, yet still makes you go into the shop to pay Have always wondered why they felt this store needed 16 fuel pumps. Have also been confused by the Costco next door having pay-at-pump only pumps, but no...
