Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread
It's interesting that we've not seen QR Code payment take off in the UK or US. It's a huge thing in China and India. I assume that's essentially what Tesco's payment wallet is, for when paying in store via their app. These days it stores payment cards in the wallet, whereas I think an earlier versi...

Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread
I noticed that Barclays have (finally) introduced support for Google Pay on their debit cards. Barclaycard are also discontinuing their app-based contactless payment feature at the end of June so it seems very likely that they will follow suit. I guess the banks and credit card companies have reali...

Re: Pres Cafe Watch News and Information Board
The "This Morning" thread has to be one of the most embarrassing things I've seen on TVF/TVLF/Pres Cafe in a long time. Got to love members who post in there constantly about unsubstantiated gossip admitting to not even watching the programme in the first place. And in classic TVF style, ...

Re: Shops with excessive tannoy announcements
Popped in B&M over the Christmas holidays and in the time it took me to find and buy 3 items from the DIY isle, I counted 16 store announcement, it was almost constant, more than you get at Kings Cross! it's odd because they don't really sell any particularly high value items, it mystifies me w...

Re: Pres Cafe Watch News and Information Board
Well, I'm not allowed to make posts and send PMs on Pres Café anymore. I think the mods suspended my account all cos I kept asking them what is taking them long to approve a post... Seriously, they need to relax this rule or something. Relax the rule about users not using the PM system to pester mo...

Re: Energy bills: How spanked will YOU get?
These rates are meant to be in place until end of September 2024. So, when's a guarantee not a guarantee? When it's the government's Energy Price Guarantee. These capped unit rates on your whole domestic bill now only in place until the end of March, it seems. No detail on what happens next, but hi...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
Ref Lakeland they've also closed their Peterborough store in Queensgate shopping centre in the past few weeks. I'd suggest with them they may have other issues.
