Re: Another High Street Rebrand
Vaguely high street, but I notice that News Group have set about plastering their branding over half the independent corner shops in the UK. Loads of little corner shops I've seen (including those with a symbol group fascia like Premier or Londis) have gained a sign with The Sun's logo on, with som...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand
Another new logo!?! This is the previous one, which appeared on my local Sainsbury's Local only a couple of months ago.
As you can see, the typeface of the word Local has changed.

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread
No it wasn't just a trial. Asda Club ran for several years. It was in the mid-1990s, if I recall, and probably launched at around the same time as Tesco's Clubcard. I think it might have been scrapped when the Rollback promotions started, which was around the year 2000.

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread
On our last visit to Morrisons we were given a form to sign up to their new "Match & More" loyalty card with not much info with it. Anyone any idea? It was announced recently that Morrisons are finally going to launch their own loyalty card, however I think they're too late with Necta...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread
Netto is coming back. The article says it is an attempt to take on Aldi and Lidl, with the first five stores opening up north by the end of the year. Quite surprised to see Sainsbury's doing this - I thought Morrisons were the ones who should be getting concerned about their state of affairs? ASDA,...

Also not far away is the former TJ Hughes, who were forced out by the tenants not long after the store was saved from administration, so they could convert it into a combination of Sports Direct, Poundland (again), a British Heart Foundation charity store and student accommodation. Suspect they're ...

Re: Juries for long running trials.
I've made it to the age of 31 without getting called up to jury duty yet, but when I run out of luck I always assumed that the court would have to pay my full salary, yet according to the link I'd need a trial to get into day 11 with me doing over 4 hour days before I'd be able to claim back what I...

And nowadays, carphones are pretty much illegal! If you use a mobile while driving, the cops will stop you and issue a fine.
