Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

The banana cages are/were a complete waste of time. In my short spell working in the fruit and veg dept of a Morrisons store, most of the time was taken up with hanging the bloody things up. It was advertised, at the time, as being the best way of selling bananas as they grow hanging. Thing is, they...

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

You mean you don't live for such highly interesting and detailed discussions like: Did you notice that Kay Burley was using the new chair again? Personally, I thoroughly enjoy interesting nuggets of information such as: The "live from the sky news centre" string was last used on Sunday, A...

Nope, you're not alone there.

I posted a comment about how boring it had become. Obviously it was removed.

Re: Metropol logo

It looks good now but when you first did it the forum skin was this horrid pink and yellow which made it hard to read anything, presumably part of the joke If anyone wants a visual reminder of how 'bright' everything was: http://www.screenshots.com/metropol247.co.uk/ Ooooh! I remember this. It was ...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

The Morrisons store in Stoke-on-Trent is getting a refit at the moment and it looks like the new concept is being rolled out there with signs advertising a new "Fresh Market" and a Flower Shop.

Still likely to be a godawful dark and dingy store at the end of it though.

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

The Morrisons on Festival Park in Stoke (a gleaming beacon of 1980s architecture) has converted one of the trolley parks to a garden centre.

Looks naff as hell.

Re: The *OFFICIAL* Asda thread

An "Asda Supermarket" just opened around the corner from me last week, and I'm very impressed to be honest. Given the size of the Netto that used to be there, they've done well to stock pretty much everything you'd need - along with DVDs and CDs aswell. There's 6 tills - 3 are self service...

Not really high street, but Sea Life has recently gone through a rebranding exercise. Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

Just to add - I love how Morrisons permanently have a member of staff manning their revolutionary banana-hanging station, usually stood behind it rotating the holders every so often. You can always be sure of a well stocked banana section when you visit Morrisons. Hate to tell you, but the banana d...

Whilst we're talking local councils, my council has an absolutely dire logo: http://www.housingnews.co.uk/enews/images/STAFFORDSHIRE%20AND%20MOORLANDS.jpg Yuck! Staffordshire County Council has recently had a nice new logo though... Previous: http://www.totemfilms.com/images/uploaded-media/thumbs/St...

Re: Best ISP

Do you know if your exchange is ADSL2 enabled? If so, I'm with o2/Be* and I'm finding them (same company and infrastructure, different brand) quite good. My speed is 16meg down, 1meg up, and I haven't been throttled despite me downloading quite a lot of videos from iPlayer HD. According to SamKnows...
