Re: E-bike rental
It feels like every schoolchild in London knows that it's pretty easy to break the lock on a Lime bike by just pushing it front wheel forward with a bit of force. I'm constantly hearing the "tick tick tick" of one going past my window all day every day now. Didn't notice this sound till a few months ...

Just me or does this feel like a bit of a stretch? I'd have maybe understood a bit more if it had red in it. And it's not like the blue is specifically in a square. Can't say I thought of the Lidl logo once when I've previously seen it in store.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
The branch of Leon in Spitalfields Market has a repossession notice in the window and is permanently closed. Is that normal for a medium sized fast food chain owned by a large retailer?!

Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread
Last Friday, I visited the Barclays in Tottenham Court Road (London), it's on the main road in a prime location in the West End, yet when I walked in, I was able to go straight to the self-service banking ATM without a queue at all. There was a steady amount of people using them, but no queue.
So ...

Re: Adverts that irritate and entertain
I get the link to "The Christmas Party" as a term but a political party themed Christmas campaign for Tesco seems really odd and joyless and the last thing I want to associate with Christmas. I wonder if they thought it up during the height of the political turmoil over the summer and thought that ...

Looks like it might be a Trainline competitor that's taking advantage of what's left of their Virgin Trains brand recognition.
As an aside, god I miss Virgin Trains West Coast. Avanti has been simply appalling since Covid, though I suppose many of their staffing problems may well have hit Virgin ...

Re: E-bike rental
Santander e-bikes are £3.30 per half hour. They should in theory be a bit cheaper to run than Lime as they have to be docked so batteries should be easier to change whereas Lime bikes are dumped all over the place which no doubt adds a lot of time to that process.

Why have they chosen to put minging puddles from tarmac defects in a CG image?
