Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread

Some of the NatWest brands have put their new card artwork online: https://www.rbs.co.uk/content/dam/royal_bank_of_scotland/personal/current-accounts/photography/image.dim.480.Mastercard-RBS-450X280.png https://www.natwest.com/content/dam/natwest/personal/current-accounts/photography/image.dim.480....

Re: Steve Wright leaves the Afternoon

I think Clyde 2 must have some sort of UK record for keeping more or less the same station name on more or less the same frequency - it's always had 'Clyde' in the name, and the move from 261m to 1152KHz is pretty much a rounding error. 49 years, 3 months and 2 days is going to be hard to beat. loo...

Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region

McGills of Greenock aren't too chuffed with the idea of a similar franchising model being introduced in Glasgow - which frankly a bit of top-down thinking applied to its transport network..

Re: The Technology Thread

I think the reason that I'd be wary of adapters is that USB-C cables aren't robust enough to survive long while being jostled around in your pocket. The little cable I use for my powerbank seems to have given up the ghost after not all that much use. That said, my wireless earphones have already end...

also, the logotype bears more than a few similarities to their US namesake:

It looks like the RNIB approval is for the 'dot and notch' features - I think it would be a struggle to 'read' the embossed numbers.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Given it's no longer "Everything £1", maybe the Poundland name should be retired? Isn't it called Dealz in Ireland, where the currency is the Euro so the Poundland name wouldn't make sense? The Dealz name doesn't mention a specific price or currency, so it's futureproof. In the days where...

I wonder if this generic image on the site is what our cards might look like in future:
the FAQ specifically says you can re-add your card to your digital wallet if you want to get the new design.

Maybe it'll grow on me.

Re: E-bike rental

The idea of going 40mph on one of those things gives me the heebie-jeebies. I've only tried escooters when they were on the pilot programme in the Olympic Park and even top speed on one of those felt a bit precarious in a way that the same speed on a bike wouldn't - I think it's probably down to how...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

North Shields is an odd store. It's the former Safeway in The Beacon Centre (covered town centre disguised as a mall). The cafe had stayed the same since Safeway closed in about 1994 (when they put their focus on the larger Whitley Bay branch) and there are several small sublet units (cobbler etc) ...
