The main bar at my local is being refurbished this week now the ban's come in. So we've all got to drink in the Lounge Bar, where they've stuck the pool table and 2 fruit machines, but not the dartboard. It stinks of varnish. I'd rather it was stale cigarettes than that.

I collected my 'souvenir' ashtray from my local at the end of Saturday night. Might flog it, might not.

My (now former) local was the first pub in my area to go totally non-smoking. It's now been refurbished and is now a pricey restaurant.

I'm pleased the ban is just a few days away.
