Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

It's what many of us were saying about pretty much anywhere in the world who's tried to suppress it- all you're really doing is holding back the tide, and the dam's going to burst eventually. In fact you could argue that England's doing better right now with Omicron as a result of being mostly open ...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

I'd already read last year that some European countries were planning on charging for tests before Delta then Omicon came in and stopped those plans, so it's not like we're the first to tout the idea.... but we could be the first to actually bring it in.

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

Bizarre seeing Drakeford attacking how Westminster are handling things when Wales' case rate is quite substantially higher than England's right now. He's also ignoring calls from his own advisors to dial back on restrictions, really does back up my thoughts that the tighter restrictions in the rest ...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

I wonder which will be the first country to stop publishing daily numbers of cases, hospitalisation and deaths? I reckon no one will drop it entirely but I can see it being phased out. We don't publish daily numbers of other respitatory illnesses, so I don't really see why it will continue once we'...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

Looks like Northern Ireland have suspended the changed mask exemption rules I posted about a couple of weeks back: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/first-minister-northern-ireland-gps-rebecca-black-b1988151.html Thankfully some common sense returned, it really was ridiculous. A kneejerk reactio...

Certainly goes against the environmentally conscious route we're supposed to be taking.

Quite a few countries were going to start charging for them earlier in the year, until Delta, then Omicron hit.

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board

Roger Darthwell clearly likes posts without actually looking at their content seeing as he liked a post I made, then reposted something which was in the video he'd just liked commenting as if it was something brand new that's just been found (which also isn't the case as the video in question's been...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

If we're reaching the point where it's not going to kill or hospitalise significant numbers of people, will there really be any reason to keep the endless testing and isolation requirements anyway? If we tested and made people isolate for every respitory illness regardless of severity the country wo...

I think it's fair to say it's a good time to be running a business near the Scottish and Welsh borders. I imagine pub and nightclub owners in Bristol, Shrewsbury and Carlisle will be rubbing this hands with the cross-border trade the next few weeks.

Professor Balloux puts the hysteria and allergy to good news better than I ever could: https://twitter.com/BallouxFrancois/status/1476024056600272896 Ridiculous that he gets attacked for trying to be positive and optimistic and pointing out we're going to have to live with this virus (and Balloux ha...
