The current state of Christmas lights

https://up.metropol247.co.uk/Dr%20Lobster*/lights.jpg Of the things it is increasingly hard to source, it's subtle, warm, cosy Christmas lights. Although the old school tungsten lamps were a real pain in the arse - if one bulb was loose the whole string would go out, they were fragile, the fuse bul...

Re: Web designers on the forum - can you help me?

Everything, Dr L. Back in the pre-responsive days, I could easily build sites with Frontpage 2003 although I wouldn't have known how to build an e-commerce store or a blog. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Elementor. I sat at my desk and felt sorry for myself for 30 minutes because I was struggl...

Re: Web designers on the forum - can you help me?

I would argue that not everyone who wants to build a website needs to learn it the old school way - and here’s why: A lot of smaller businesses just want a web presence which is really just a landing page they can stick in their marketing materials with a little bit of info about what they do and ho...

Re: Web designers on the forum - can you help me?

I’ve used many over the years. Elementor has its quirks but is the best in my opinion. Look after sites built with WP Bakery, Beaver and ThemecoPro/Cornerstone too. The trick with elementor is you got to build your whole site with it, including the theme. If you try and mix with a different theme I ...

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board

I’m so desperate to tell some people to pull themselves together, demanding the relaunch is either entirely delayed, or not delayed, or they bring back the balloons as they can’t cope with Oneness for a moment longer. Anyone who did slap down the conversation would probably get banned though, so th...

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board

I follow a few unsolved crimes and if you think tvliveforum is bad, websleuths I can assure you hits heights of human stupidity and banality not even seen in the dark days of the rota, fantasy rota and fantasy schedule threads on tv forum. In fact, on that forum I have even seen a poster claiming to...

Re: Fuel situation in your area

No diesel in any of the local stations, my wife’s car is petrol and she managed to fill up today after a short wait, just got lucky.

I have half a tank of diesel left, should last me to the end of the week, then I’m a bit buggered.

Re: Energy bills: How spanked will YOU get?

I was with UtilityPoint and had been paying £55 a month for both gas and electric. I’ve been moved to EDF as of last week, not had anything from them other than a welcome email so don’t even know what I’m paying. That fact that our energy costs are so low is because we’ve done everything we can to b...

Re: Masks

I’m not wearing my mask any more. If I was in a crowded place with lots of people coughing and spluttering, I probably would. So far, since they have been no longer mandatory, I haven’t felt the need to wear one yet.

Re: GB News - Does anyone take it seriously?

I find the shouty people on both sides of the political spectrum very very boring indeed. Politically, I consider myself left of centre, not too much on the left that I'm into nutter territory - Tony Blair's New Labour I felt was about as good compromise as we were going to get in this country - it ...
