Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

Christ, do I need to change my username? Several times now I've had people be patronising to me because they think the "2001" refers to my birth year. Even though the stuff I post about should make it quite obvious that I'm a lot older than that. I was older in 2001 than I would be now if ...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Also when it comes to branding, don't forget that while Tesco introduced their current logo in 1995, they still had the old logo on carrier bags until the back end of 1997. What makes that even worse is they had clubcards adverts & "charity of the year" bits on the bags with the curren...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

M&S surely must be one of the companies that seems to rebrand the most, 4 different logos in the span of 15 years! The store here still had 1980s Yellow M&S signage on it until the mid-2000s, are there any stores around that still have that logo on? I know the Nottingham store still has it e...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

One thing looking at those photos of the Hoover building store- I didn't realise they were still using the red on white typewriter font signage on new builds as late as 1992 (which is when that store opened)! I know they were using the white on blue sans-serif font style by 1994 from an old TV show ...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

I think that could be the case, the one in Worksop had an old style opening hours thing on the petrol station, and it had typewriter style "24 hours" in it- with 24 hour opening obvious not starting till years after Tesco had dropped that style. Sadly they replaced that sign with a modern ...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Good old Home n Wear. I remember that at our local store, a separate unit from the main store! Became a store room when they refitted and extended the store in 1996 though, sadly!

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

The one in Worksop still has the logo BEFORE that one, and the white & cream stripes around the inside, and the "typewriter" font everywhere, or at least it did last time I was there earlier this year.

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

I see that store is using the "new" logo as well, which means Morrisons is using two logos at the same time- just like Sainsbury's and Somerfield were in the 90s.

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

You mean the Worksop branch of Tesco which still has the pre-1990 logo and the "typewriter" font all over it? Or at least it did last time I was there!

Re: Digital Spy Watch News and Information Board

Critising Islam is one thing, the "all Muslims are anti-western terrorist scum" bullshit we see and hear far too much is another.

Re: Digital Spy Watch News and Information Board

I know that- other members of my family today have been recieving abuse on Facebook for daring to say that people shouldn't tarnish all Muslims for this. It's horrible to see comments aimed at them (from complete strangers too) calling them "do gooders" and "terrorist sympathisers&quo...
