Re: Bauer changes

I hadn't really been paying attention to the Bauer schedules, but I've just noticed (courtesy of barcode post on TV Forum) that John Leslie has a mid-afternoon show on 2, overlapping slightly with his brother Grant Stott's show on Forth 1.

Re: Guess who...

Well cool, there you go. Ntlworld e-mail went with the country move. Do they still exist in the UK? It's virgin media now right? What happened there... One of my colleagues still uses an ntlworld email address - another has a blueyonder one. They both access their mail through a Gmail instance with...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Fashion retailer Bank has entered administration today. I don't think I've ever entered any of their 84 shops. I don't think I'd seen one until I was in Glasgow just before Christmas, and saw a big backlit "Bank" sign - my first thought was "I didn't know that Bank of Scotland had a ...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

The oddball branch of Currys PC World Black in Westfield Stratford City appears to have been rebranded into a Currys PC World Carphone Warehouse:

(Perhaps I should see them about getting a phone with a better camera?)

Re: Bauer changes

The '2' naming scheme originates from Radio Clyde, which split into Clyde 1 FM and Clyde 2 AM in 1990. Northsound split into 1 and 2 in 1995, and Forth One and Forth 2 gained their current names in 2000.

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Call me old fashioned but I don't understand why you'd need wifi when you are doing your shopping anyway? Unless you were planning a #livefromtesco tweetathon, in which case carry on. My old local store was bit of a Faraday cage, which meant I couldn't get any 3G signal in there at all. WiFi was qu...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

What will BT do with the former Freeserve/Wanadoo/Orange/EE Home Broadband offer? When BT Sport launched, a former colleague of mine said he was quite tempted to switch to BT Broadband, but didn't want to change his Freeserve email address. Perhaps he'll get to keep it and get the channels for free...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Tesco have changed their WiFi provider to BT, and no longer require a Clubcard number to log in. This article claims it's faster than the previous supplier, though I didn't see much evidence of that. Perhaps it's all the filtering they're doing on it.

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

What happens if you do? Are you interested enough for me to register for a card to find out? yes. yes I am. I've not forgotten this request, I've just not been in the store yet when they've had: the items that I'm looking for at least one operational self-service till We did try out their home deli...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

This is the new one in East Village, yes? It's very annoying that they've decided to make it just large enough to close at 5pm on Sundays. Indeed it is. Especially annoying since the nearest non-Sunday-Trading-Act-afflicted store is probably a good 15-20 minutes hike. I went in to my local main Tes...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

I should maybe add that this one is a Local, albeit apparently one that's over 3000 sq ft, because it's only open for 6 hours on a Sunday.
