Re: Poundland to buy out 99p stores
meanwhile, the Str a tford Centre now has two Poundlands, with about three shops separating them. The only way I could work out which one was the former 99p stores was the "amazing value everyday" (shouldn't that be 'every day'?) rather than "everything's £1" on the sign of the ...

Re: Poundland to buy out 99p stores
When Morrisons bought Safeway, as I understand it the Safeway buying department was just shut down overnight and all its own brand items were deleted from converted stores before they reopened. I remember when Morrisons acquired Safeway, the stores had M own brand products and Safeway carriers were...

Re: Poundland to buy out 99p stores
But, as you say, the Woolies-to-99p Stores conversions were done on an absolute shoestring. Even now, some have remnants of Woolies in place like the 'Staff Only' signs on the doors. Yes, Penge was a typical 99p Stores lack of conversion job at the start. They used the Woolies tills, kept the floor...

Re: Poundland to buy out 99p stores
I had a look at the 99p Stores store finder and they're showing existing stores and converted Poundland stores of which there are three in a ten mile radius from me. After asking locally, it appears Penge will have a refit and rebrand in January after trading for Christmas, although apparently the r...

Re: Poundland to buy out 99p stores
99p Stores in Penge has Woolworths style 'STORE CLOSING' and 'EVERYTHING MUST GO' signs up.
Now either Poundland want a clean slate by closing the store before a refit and rebranding exercise or are closing shops. Penge doesn't currently have a Poundland.

I wonder if it's only stores with the new NCR terminals which will get the Christmas voice?

The issue is that most people on DS and various social media can't even articulate criticism about Islam as they're too full of bigotry and ignorance to understand the complex issues around the religion.

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board
I posted that tweet which pip2 didn't particularly like to reflect normal viewer reflection. Went down like a lead balloon, the way it went down, it could have been Westy being a twat instead.TopCat wrote:Have @ITV dumbed down the @NewsAtTen ? Seems very "alright mate how you doing" ?
