Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
I'm not sure Wilko should have it's test server publically live but it 100% is - https://www.wilko-it.com/en-uk/. Definitely not a scam site, just came across it accidently when looking for how to look after some seeds I got from Wilko and it keeps getting updated including having The Range head of...

Re: What's going on with all this gender stuff?
There's nothing to work out, except what we need to do as a society to ensure it's not a problem. None of this is complicated, unless you want it to be. There is most definitely something which needs to be worked out. According to this report , trans hate crimes have increased significantly in the ...

Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread
Nationwide have rebranded. Their old logo was dated but the new branding has got a very 90s feel. They’ve taken the heavily stylised church behind the house out of their logo. I think that would have attracted the ire of the right-wing press a decade ago, but I suspect even they won’t care these da...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
Seems to be standard with what Poundland are doing - weirdly the Worcester one you mentioned has all new shelving installed with the exception of the Wilko Candyking (Pick & Mix) fittings, which they've kept even though they don't match the normal stuff Poundland use. Did anyone get any bargains...

Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread
apparently they've finally updated their ancient banking app so you don't need the stupid wee calculator card reader to send tiny amounts of money any more. i'm a shameless "oh i'll sort the bill" person on nights out (I want the Amex points) but there was always one colleague who used pa...

Re: What's going on with all this gender stuff?
Not sure I have a different answer for those last 3 other than 'who cares', too. The last one is a bit loaded because of the rape stuff, but why is gender part of that argument - how much rape goes on in prison every single day? How about we sort the issue out rather than cherry picking isolated in...

Re: What's going on with all this gender stuff?
Counter-question, what's the problem with people changing genders? I think that's a really interesting question. So to answer it, and your wider point, we need to clarify what we mean by changing genders. As far as I can tell, a trans identity is understood to be any of the strands below, each buil...

Re: What's going on with all this gender stuff?
Counter-question, what's the problem with people changing genders? I see a lot of hysteria like 'rapists in womens prisons' and 'paedophiles in female loos/changing rooms' but surely making these issues one of gender ignores the fact that homosexuality is a thing (so I hear, anyway) and thus enforce...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
I thought they'd shut all the standalone Pep & Co stores? Don't they still have some in the Midlands? Thought they'd remodelled some of their 'mothballed' stores in 2021 and reopened them as Pep & Co? Ah yes, Martineau Place - but that's a strange one as it is in the same building 3 doors u...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
Looks like Poundland are running these shops with a very light touch rebranding: https://www.sloughobserver.co.uk/news/23824921.wilko-reopens-poundland-today-maidenhead-high-street/ I imagine it's temporary but I expected them to close and put their normal fit out (which isn't especially elaborate)...
