Re: The *OFFICIAL* Asda thread
Not just influenced. Both the sun and tagline are taken directly from Walmart's logo - to be honest, I'm surprised they did that yet kept the wordmark and green colour scheme.

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread
It's mad that there are quite so many Café concepts across the Tesco estate. There's some in-house, the Eurest ones, the ones run by that other company (with the nicer seating and Costa drinks), straight up Costa Coffees, Harris & Hooles, Decks (which in some cases have already been replaced by...

Re: Poundland to buy out 99p stores
Ooh, I love those, but the best I ever see is buy one get one free or 50% off in the main supermarkets - works out about 65p each on such deals. Where was this 4 for £1 deal?bilky asko wrote:The real value (in any of the discount stores) is the short-dated stuff. 4 bottles of Frijj milkshake for £1? Yes please.

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread
It's an ex-Co-operative Pioneer, not a Tesco. Before the big Tesco Extra at St Stephens and all those little Tesco Express convenience stores opened, the only Tesco in Hull was the one on Hall Road, which is still there. Oh, I didn't realise that. It looked a lot like some older Tesco branches I'd ...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread
Some of the 10 stores Morrisons are closing are actually former Safeway stores which Somerfield acquired then Co-op divested. That'll make it the second time Morrisons close/sell these stores inside 10 years. Conversely, the former Netto stores may well still be owned by Dansk, in which case I reck...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
John Lewis used CityLink as it's main courier. I always found CityLink to be one of the better couriers in comparison to Yodel and DPD. Yodel have made headlines for the wrong reasons more than once. They've even ended up on BBC Watchdog: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/41TNm9F6x0R9GGyzLyW...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand
So, less than ten years after it fled the mobile market like a pig from a gun, BT are gunning for EE, which has only recently rebranded from Orange/T-Mobile. All this to fulfil their lofty aim to deliver the UK's second-best quad-play service. How the mighty have fallen. Why didn't they go for O2 i...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand
I wonder why N&P got a pink and purple colour scheme when it's previous logo was black and the one before it was blue and yellow? The colour scheme given to YBS Share Plans (whose previous logo was the same colours as YBS itself) would've made more sense.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
But W is usually a zigzag shape. These are both curly with a loop - quite the coincidence.

Re: Another High Street Rebrand
The only change to the name is that they changed "and" to "&" when they introduced the N&P logo. They never ditched the full name. All three logos are here:
