Re: Another High Street Rebrand
Hmm, I've clearly not being paying attention recently but going by what Hermes has revealed and a bit of guesswork it does look like the Halifax brand is going to disappear completely in Scotland, at least. I never really saw the point of the dual-branded Bank of Scotland Halifax branches, except m...

Re: Windows 8
I've been putting off getting a Mac, purely because Windows 7 is a pretty decent OS and it does the job nicely. However Windows 8 is clunky, difficult to use, too much of a mish-mash between old and new and not particularly attractive. Seriously considering switching to a Mac if this is the directio...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread
Scotmid have always had pretty poor checkout service. It generally takes twice as long to go through the entire till process as it would at *other* supermarkets. They could do with investing in some Self Scan machines, but I don't think I've ever seen one in any Co-op store. Also, I've noticed more ...

Re: Are Sony fooked?
I loved my Sony Ericsson K800i, and so did a lot of people at one point (maybe around 2006-2008). It seemed to be a pretty popular device before iPhones and Blackberry's reached the mainstream market. It looked great and had a pretty decent camera if I recall, very decently priced too. It's a shame ...

Even pressing Esc before the blackout page appears works for me.Pete wrote:Yes the ways around are to turn off javascript or to use the mobile site by changing the URL from en.wiki to en.m.wiki
The sheer torrent of shite I look up every day is shocking. Still, means I do rather well in quizzes.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
But as long as Fopp is still open, I'm happy. And how has that survived? I'm sure I've heard at least twice over the last few years that Fopp was on the brink of going under. The Fopp website says that HMV have re-opened some of the stores, leaving 8 across the country. http://www.foppreturns.com

News out this morning that Little Chef is to close 67 of their restaurants, with the potential loss of 600 jobs.
