Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board
An outstanding example of psychic abilities from RJH Glover in the BBC One thread ... Watched about the first 30 minute of this week's Apprentice on Iplayer and after I found out that Empire had lost, I had a feeling that Norul would get sacked and it happened. Derek Acorah's going to be worried for...

Re: BBC Radio 1
I would argue that part of Radio 1's success is actually that commercial radio appears to serve a narrow audience. I'm not sure that that's true at all. It may be the case that there's less variety on commercial radio, but most commercial radio stations (other than the 'specialist' types like Galax...

Re: BBC Radio 1
The problem is Radio 1's service licence specifies that it must target an audience of 15 to 29 year olds. In recent Rajars, the average age of a Radio 1 listener has been put at 33. The Radio Centre which represents commercial radio has already complained about this to the BBC Trust, so it wouldn't ...

Re: DJs taking over records
It just happens because it sounds slick, adds pace and keeps a radio show moving. It's the same reason beds are used to talk over.

Re: The "omg, they actually make that" thread
I was mulling this over and can't be arsed to google it. I know not all fats are created equal: can the same be said of sugars, like the sugars in cake and the sugars in milk? I'm inclined to think no but frankly I'm looking for any angle that lets me have more cake. Yes, there are complex sugars i...

Re: The "omg, they actually make that" thread
Whilst on holiday in Prague recently, the hotel had chocolate muesli on the breakfast selection, which struck me as a rather pointless cereal. Surely the main reason to eat muesli is that it's healthy; add chocolate to it and you kind of remove its purpose in life. And if you don't mind about not ha...

Re: How paranoid can you get?
I have a friend who is tormented by a similar paranoia, in which he believes lyrics of sings, statements by politicians and other global events are directed towards him. We had some bother at a radio station I used to work for with a listener who constantly complained that we were playing songs wri...

Re: Radio 2 Jingles - A Question
Just having a trawl through my anorak collection and came across the Groove Addicts demo CD with the original Radio 2 package on. I don't think these are available on their website anymore... or at least I can't find them, so thought they might be of interest to those who haven't heard them before.....
