Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread
There's also shrinkflation on the 12 pack 500ml still water packs by using the cheaper plastic bottles that are easier to squash. That was more to do with them changing suppliers. They used to use Highland Spring which is decent water to the utter rubbish in Staffordshire which is usually used in t...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
If you didn't know "The Fresh Market" is a Tesco concept, you'd think is Morrisons. Reminds me of a naff version of the new M&S store design than Morrison's personally. The only thing that reminds me of Morrison's is turning half the lights off and making the place look unwelcoming, r...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread
What an utterly shite scheme. Essentially 10% back in points on a few things (rounded down in awkward chunks) and 0.5% back on fuel. Boggles the mind that this is the best they could come up with. Hopeless ain't it. It's so ironic that this page - https://www.morrisons.com/help/new-morrisons-more/,...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread
Apparently it's just a trial for now: https://www.retailgazette.co.uk/blog/2023/04/morrisons-latest-grocer-to-launch-loyalty-member-only-prices/ Just got this as I'm in the North East and it's pointless 15 offers for points which expire at the end of May and most of them are for cakes which I don't...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread
Seen Morrisons is relaunching the More scheme for the second time on Tuesday which seems to be exactly the same as last time even known customers didn't like it...? It's been assuming leaked by Morrisons at Morpeth on their community page - https://www.facebook.com/Morries1899/ as it's not mentioned...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread
Related in The Observer: https://www.theguardian.com/business/2023/feb/27/is-private-equity-tearing-the-soul-out-of-morrisons-supermarket I note that even Waitrose are now trying the whole 'price investment' angle. It's funny I read that about 5 minutes after posting and if I had a rant about the p...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread
2 - the shop in question is a large, modern, decent ceilinged, well lit branch. But McColls have some right run down dumps, would Morrisons want their branding on such branches? tbf it would fit totally in place. Some of their main estate is an absolute dump lately, especially after some bright spa...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread
There's been a big change up my end - the belted self-service checkouts have been replaced with a slightly larger area of standard trolley-style self-service checkouts. However, the checkout is a new style: https://up.metropol247.co.uk/bilky%20asko/20221105_112100.jpg The note acceptor can take mul...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand
Mind Hexham was desperate to be done, you could've put the old Presto signs up and no-one would've been wiser since the place hadn't had much work on it since it opened in the Mid 80's. Was Hexham a Safeway then? With the classic Presto deli tiles? Yeah it was, bought it back in 2006 I believe but ...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand
I wonder what percentage of the store estate has been converted to the 2018 look? Can't say I've noticed any examples in the north of England - presumably it's progressed better further south? The Newcastle store has been considered for closure multiple times over the last few years (if rumours are...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread
Just came back from Morrison's before by god are the stores in a shocking state lately as if maintenance just isn't happening and it's not just one store either, they're all as bad as each other locally ie. Buckets in the aisles collecting water from leaking roofs, whole aisles of fridges broken (n...
