Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region

Why? The strikes aren't every day. I was in London on Thursday and it made literally no difference there was a strike the day before and after. At least you have a decent network of transport in London that can handle part of a service striking. Meanwhile, in places like Skelmersdale, they're effec...

Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region

Yeah I was planning to go to London, pretty much was gonna be a geeky trip if you like, visiting tv studios around central London, but yeah the strikes has put paid to that little ambition anyway, but there’s always next time :-) Why? The strikes aren't every day. I was in London on Thursday and it...

Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region

Well, the public transport in my part of the world is in a bit of a pickle. For 2 weeks, all Arriva North West buses have been on strike over a pay dispute. In a show and tell of 'What happens when you only have one bus company running the majority of your services', a good chunk of the region has b...

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board

It is interesting to see this mini 'Wild West' era for TV pres related forums come about. I've signed up for both TV Talk Forum and Prescafe, and will ultimately stay active on the one which catches on and has more interesting discussion. Its also interesting to note that the hole left by TVLF has l...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

I was in a local corner shop today, and it dawned on me: I think I actually prefer talking to a cashier, and the added time of having friendly customer service exposure to the convenience of scan and pay kiosks.

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board

Also wasn't long before the 'they should simply axe the services I don't use' crowd turned up, which is always fun. The notion that they should cut EastEnders episodes by 75% to save the BBC News channel did make me laugh - surely got to be up there in the TVF/TVLF hall of fame of insane ideas that...

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board

It does boggle the mind how people can be so passionate about TV presentation. Who here would be caught doing tha...oh wait, I'm passionate about it. Bugger. In all seriousness, it does seem like there was some unwarranted negativity from some people. If you don't like something, that's fair. Im not...

The closest to it outside of London is probably Manchester, and even then, its only in the actual city. Greater Manchester is still quite patchy.

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board

Just a warning for those who have not been on the Jeremy Kyle thread: I may have written a long, and angry rant...Sorry.
