Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board
The constant obsession of some members with the BBC Two 'Channel of the Year' graphic is a perfect example of a certain type of member who would be complaining about something incredibly minor whatever happened. If they hadn't mentioned it, they would ask why BBC Two weren't mentioning it. If they a...

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board
It'll be carnage when the new look actually launches, how long before many hate it! The Forum will love it for six months, then the younger members will start declaring it 'tired' and saying that it is time for something new. After about two/three years, 'tired' will become the consensus opinion (r...

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board
It's a bit like those users who tease that they have certain music packages and then act surprised when they get a deluge of PMs asking for them. If you tease anything that other forumers would clearly be interested in, I think you have to accept you will get some members asking for more. I semi-reg...

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board
I'm not registered on TVL and can't register at the moment, but just had to call this post out in the New BBC Logo thread: A little late here, but I find it astonishing that people can write things like (from the Cleanfeed article): The new blocks lack the class, gravitas and timeless quality of th...

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board
1 in 20 of all posts on TVL Forum are by him. This made me wonder what share of posts are concerning GB News - 13.5% (nearly 1 in 7) if just taking the post-launch thread; 18.0% (about 2 in 11) if including the pre-launch thread. Also, despite accounting for 51% of posts on the first page of the Ne...

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board
199 pages and nearly 3000 comments in one week, I do not envy the moderators of that thread.

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board
For reference on how unhealthy the obsession with GB News is - after less than 3 days, the thread has already reached 141 pages. The BBC National/News Channel from New Broadcasting House thread on TVF took five-and-a-half months to get to 141 pages and had only reached page 56 by this point.

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board
I expect that like the London Live launch thread on TVF, it'll be a dud and then everyone moves on. I agree it'll be a dud, although I expect it'll last a while - a combination of not being able to admit defeat and, although profit isn't the point, there is a point when the lossmaking will outweigh...

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board
Oh great, another thread that is a not at all subtle attempt to start a political argument about the BBC.

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board
The immigrants kept them in power. Invite 'em over, subsidise their lifestyle, who else are they going to vote for? Helped get Labour a third term in the short run (they must have expected a caning over Iraq) but in the long run I think the tide turned and it sowed the seeds of today's issues. I th...
