Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

Me too - I don't have much of an interest in TV Pres, but I'm very interested in the technical side. Working in the industry, I do try and add some non-sensitive information where I can - or at least as far as I can be bothered before being shouted down by some spotty teen who knows my job better th...

Re: Is facebook on the wane?

It's the people that litter my Facebook with hashtags even though they don't use Twitter that annoy me.

I have a feeling they think they're being funny. In reality it just puts them one step closer to being hidden.

Re: Stuck in a rut...

And that is probably where our experience differs - for a department such as ours (transmission), entry is very unusual without a degree. There are people here who worked their way up without degrees by getting experience, but to be honest, that experience doesn't exist in quite my line of work any ...

Re: Stuck in a rut...

I didn't do A levels. Couldn't get out of school quick enough. I did a BTEC OND in General Engineering before going on to uni to do Broadcast Engineering. It was a course I loved and as I took maths for higher education as a module, it actually meant I spent much of the first year at uni treading wa...

Re: Windows 8

Initially, I was very sceptical about metro. I've not used it yet, I think I'd rather wait for the proper release that make my mind up on a pre-release version. However, the actual user experience doesn't seem to be a million miles from Unity. I hated unity at first, but once I updated to the latest...

Re: Radio 1 schedule changes from April

I think it's quite likely that either Scott Mills or Sara Cox will get the breakfast show for an interim period after Moyles leaves, they'll be able to smooth over the change. The press will lay into the successor with daily negative articles, so it's best if they are given 6 months to get used to ...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

The ones they've installed in my local ASDA look terrible just because the rails they've used to ensure the doors self close are all at a tad more than a jaunty angle. Looks like the curtain rails you see on police shows during drug raids. Sadly, it looks as if it is intended to be that way. I don't...
