Re: 2012 Elections
That's very true, I'd forgotten about that bit - however the point still stands for all other companies cascading/selling on their vehicles.

Re: 2012 Elections
However as I said, other than being marginally more economical and looking nostalgic, they (NBfL) do a very similar job to the current bunch of Enviro400H hybrids and Wright/Volvo B5L hybrid vehicles which are cheaper and are of perfectly good quality. They are also built within the UK, in fact the ...

Re: 2012 Elections
The London Mayoral election is the only one I really care about this year. As much as I dislike the Tory party and Boris I can't really fault any of his actions in position - the New Bus for London should have happened years ago (before the Old Bus for London was withdrawn, really), the bikes are b...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
The problem I've found with Peacocks in the past, at least in the male section, is that they sell Primark-style clothes (aka variable quality, good range of products similar to main high street shops) but sell their clothes at Topman/River Island prices. I think they'd be better placing themselves i...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread
I read it as buy some pasta, and get Tesco Finest pasta sauce half price - but the way you're making it out suggests it's not that simple. Well that is essentially the offer. My issues are with the design of the ticket and with the fact the two items were not next to one another on the shelf. Also ...

Re: Long Run of HDMI
Various internet results and my experience suggest - nowt. HDMI cables no matter how cheap/expensive are the same, it either works fully or it doesn't work. Don't bother forking out for anything fancy, just order the cheapest and that'll do fine.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
And while we're talking about tacky own-brand products, how are Wilkinsons doing? Are they so cheap-and-cheerful that they're OK? I know my mother, for example, likes to buy her stationery from there to save money, so perhaps they are doing well from people down-buying in the recession? I think Wil...

Re: Richard Stallman aka Tumble Tower
Is he honestly for real  You'd think as someone that has helped popularise free software, that he would be more relaxed about everything. I think he might be so far up his arse, he's back through his own mouth. It's almost like something you might see quoted out of one of the daft magazines on ...
