Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
Quite the achievement when they seem to be based on different things. Both resemble a W, but the Aussie one looks like an apple and the British one looks like a shopping basket.

Re: Long forgotten brands that sank without trace
United Biscuits has always owned McVitie's (since McVitie and Price merged with another company to form UB in 1948), while they only bought Jacob's in 2004, decades after Cheddars and Mini Cheddars had launched. Since Cheddars are a cracker, they probably just decided it was a better fit.

Re: Fab new look.
Who mentioned rotas? Pete said he'd be dealing with things over the next few days... but like I said, it's been over a week. Better to not say any timescale if you can't keep to it. Real life does get in the way sometimes, I understand that. But if it's a technical issue delaying things, maybe the c...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand
How is saying "Est 1971" sounding "shit"? That'd be over 40 years of heritage. A lot of businesses don't last that amount of time these days.

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread
There was also an article about it in yesterday's Sun, saying it was launching "today" (i.e. yesterday), which means people will be expecting to be able to pick up one of those cards in Morrisons today. If that's not the case, it's a massive screw-up.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
It does all seem a bit short-sighted on the part of the operators. Only EE has a comparable high street network to phones 4 u, all other operators have less stores and are on less high streets. Even with EE, the comparable network is largely because of the history of those stores as separate T-Mobi...

You mean the word Local on there? It's no wonder they changed it when the main logo changed.
