Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

Our Tesco is a converted Somerfield. They never have enough checkouts open and the whole aesthetic is very cheap and nasty, with an open "warehouse" roof and all lit by flourescent tubes, until 8pm when they turn half of them off and you're forced to self scan. These of course never work p...

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board

I don't want to come off as insensitive but am I the only one who finds ToasterMan's thread about Playdays a bit weird? All threads about children’s tv tend to be a bit weird. I find the inference here pretty appalling tbh. There is a fucking gulf between nostalgia over the telly you watched as a c...

Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread

We had a Maccies that closed in the late 2000s, but it never moved on from the 1980s look - all that plastic bench seating with those PVC back cushions stayed with it the whole time. Conversely, a Maccies a couple of miles away which opened in the late 90s went through at least two refurbs in the fi...

Re: More AM Closures at BBC

AM will close in the next 5 years I reckon. There's just too much RF interference around now for it to be of any use in the home. In the car the Faraday cage effect helps a little but the tuner is not going to be the best. AM transmitters are also more expensive to run than their FM counterparts. Th...

Re: Digital Spy Watch News and Information Board

The DS radio forum hasn't half gone downhill, some of the discussion is really inane and the obsession with Boom Radio bordering on the mildly disturbing.

Never a fan of a photograph when you have a clear window into the product itself.
But the clear window shows the uncooked product, the picture shows it cooked.
true, I always thought it was a branding no-no?

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Brexiters like to put their fingers in their ears and pretend that there's no negative effects from it whatsoever. The pound's fallen nearly 20% as a direct result of the Brexit vote and Theresa May's talk of forcing hard brexit though. What did you think would happen after such a steep fall? Nothi...

And now it's being blamed on Brexit.

Re: Do the Royal Mail/Post Office need competition?

No. Well you would say that. And you accuse ME of living in the 50s. Oh the irony. Absolutely they need competiton, the service they provide is simply not good enough. Whilst of course the amount of letters has shot right down in recent times, the amount of parcels being sent has gone through the r...

So they're basically bullying Unilever in a "we've got the bigger penis" kinda way?
