Re: The Co-op Thread

Indeed, the decision by societies to go their own way branding-wise (whilst something I like in a geeky way), is quite baffling at times also! Despite entirely different fascias and branding, my local society still uses all the Co-operative group posters in addition to all the product lines featurin...

Re: Decision '17

Bloody hell! Very surprised to catch this announcement this morning, turned to my phone at about 10:50 and saw a tweet which speculated a GE and was quite shocked - even more so when it turned out to be true! Really think this is going to be an absolute disaster for Labour - at the moment I'm curiou...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

I've not been in a Morrisons in years so can't comment on the quality of stores now, but ASDA certainly continue to feel like the most downmarket of the main supermarkets IMO. I went into a store that I think had been recently refitted a little while back and it still didn't look great - I'm sure th...

Re: Budget smartphones

I definitely feel that amongst Android phones, there is a sort of rise of the budget smartphone, because as you say the good ones aren't that much worse. Just look at the oneplus line of the phones - I think they've gotten more expensive over the years but when the first one came out it was half the...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

Whenever I've seen the Aldi or Lidl logos in recent times I've wondered when one of the two would get a rebrand away from their outdated and rubbish looking logos, so nice to see a bit of a step here from Aldi, even if A) It isn't particularly revolutionary or 2) It isn't particularly good. Lidl's v...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Definitely not used for anything. If for whatever reason you need to sign something a slip will be printed (and then inserted in to the coupon slot). Oh yes, one of the card readers on a self-service checkout in a nearby Sainsbury's Local has been rubbish for some time, and if using it I've often h...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Premier and Family Shopper fascists? I enjoyed reading this, thank you Haha, a typo but I suspect some might agree all the same! Popped into the ASDA in Norwich today as I went past, and unbeknownst it seemed to have been refitted fairly recently, featuring the new logo with the Walmart 'sun' on it...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

In contrast, I see non-LED petrol prices on totem signs all the time!

In other news, Tesco are buying Booker then! I wonder what'll happen to the Premier and Family Shopper fascists?

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Popped into the ASDA in Norwich today as I went past, and unbeknownst it seemed to have been refitted fairly recently, featuring the new logo with the Walmart 'sun' on it, whilst looking fairly fresh inside. Good to see only the current logo everywhere with no mishmash of old and knew, and the signa...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Reminds me of this former Odeon in Ipswich - it must have been closed for at least ten, perhaps nearly 15 years now, yet the scar of the old logo on the building is clear enough to even be able to make out what it says! Additionally, the blue boards in that streetview shot also feature the remnants ...

Re: Poundland to buy out 99p stores

Speaking of fascias, are B&M gradually becoming less rubbish with theirs? One of the Poundlands (ex-99p stores) in Ipswich recently closed, being across the road from the next nearest branch on a pedestrianised street, and only having had come into existence as 99p stores was bought out. B&M...
