What nobody on either tweet chain has suggested despite that coming up, though, it that maybe they can't just call it just Smiths, because of Smyths Toys. Maybe they should've adopted a logo with a similar layout to the old BBC One branding. A...

Yeah, the TV advert acts like they are a bank, not a building society. Are they planning to demutualise?

Looks like Poundland are running these shops with a very light touch rebranding: https://www.sloughobserver.co.uk/news/23824921.wilko-reopens-poundland-today-maidenhead-high-street/ I imagine it's temporary but I expected them to close and put their normal fit out (which isn't especially elaborate)...

Re: The Technology Thread

Non-user replaceable batteries should be banned on the grounds it creates more e-waste.

And it's odd - top of the line phones lack the 3.5mm port now, but my cheap one bought only last year still does have it. Cheaper phones wouldn't normally be expected to have features expensive ones don't!

The usual branding for the forum actually looks more dated than this one - due to it being based on the London 2012 Olympic Games logo. So I'm inclined to agree.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

The stock checker by the way is complete nonsense, I wanted to buy some back brushes which the stock checker claims there are 15 in stock. They were sold out. While I could have gone to B&M on two buses, I ended up buying one on Amazon. Yeah, I checked the site for a universal remote control, a...
