Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread
One thing I’ve never experienced before today at a Sainsbury’s Local - none of the tills were accepting contactless, you had to use card and PIN and it would take ages, best part of a minute, for the transaction to go through post PIN. The transaction’s still yet to appear on my bank account which m...

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board
The immigrants kept them in power. Invite 'em over, subsidise their lifestyle, who else are they going to vote for? Helped get Labour a third term in the short run (they must have expected a caning over Iraq) but in the long run I think the tide turned and it sowed the seeds of today's issues. I th...

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board
I don’t agree with your assertion that the country has veered heavily to the right. The working class have abandoned Labour in significant numbers though. I’d say it’s more the case that Labour have abandoned the working class. Hence the Tories doing so well in former Labour strongholds. But beyond...

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board
Brekkie is one of these people who is so entrenched in his outlook that he believes his side's own spin and hype. For example, the way extreme Europhiles have fudged the figures to suggest 63% voted Remain, by counting people who didn't vote and assuming they would vote that particular way. The pus...

Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread
Is there much nostalgia for the old Wendy’s UK restaurants? Even through watching a lot of American TV I don’t think I’ve ever heard it referenced more than once or twice. It’s such a crowded market that I can’t imagine it being a huge success - but apparently they’re already planning on 400 locati...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
Do you say the same when you pay for parking, or use a vending machine? How about bagging your shopping at a manned checkout? Or hell, going around the shop filling your trolley; surely that's the job of a worker no? No, because the technology works. Self checkout constantly needs approval for item...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
M&S have refreshed their Stratford foodhall and it looks very nice indeed. There's a nicely themed Percy Pig aisle, a much nicer food to go area with a fancy rotisserie bit but the cafe has now gone. There's even a wine tasting machine and a coffee grinder that will give you free samples when yo...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
The EAT branch in Westfield Stratford, which closed at the end of January, isn't showing much sign of reopening as a Pret. I didn't think they'd have had a huge amount of work to do to switch brands, so I'm curious to know how far along they got in February/March before it all ground to a halt, and...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times
I'm feeling a wee bit guilty about having essentially skipped the list by a few months by dint of having a few hours to stand around, but on the other hand I guess they wouldn't have done it unless they thought it was the most efficient way to get the vaccines into people's arms rather than into th...

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board
It does make you wonder how some of the formerly banned members filled the days whilst they were banned from TV Forum I wondered the exact same thing, they must've all remained avid readers long after they were banned. I bet they couldn't believe their luck that a new identical forum was launching!

I'm kind of amazed Thorntons lasted as long as it did. I'll eat pretty much anything sweet but Thorntons is phenomenally average chocolate. Definitely not worth the prices they charge when you can get much higher quality chocolate, and even packaging, from Hotel Chocolat for not much more.
