Re: Windows 9 is now Windows 10

Whilst we're on the subject of old software being good enough. If you don't need your computer connected to the internet or run (most) modern programs, Windows 2000 is still a damn fine operating system. (Like, for example, running older programs or games in a virtual machine). I think Windows 2000...

Re: Windows 9 is now Windows 10

How many businesses have switched to Windows 10 at this time though? We seem to be at the point we were with Windows 7 where Windows XP was 6 years ago. Windows 7 was the "current" version of the OS, but XP was still the version of choice in most workplace environments. Now, Windows 10 is ...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Nah, used to love walking on the fields behind Tesco. She walked up there every day to do her shopping until only a few months before her passing aged 92.

Love the old pics of the Mansfield Oak Tree store. My grandma lived near there.

Worth a read if you have a spare evening. Comedy gold, if a little creepy.

Make public transport as unappealing as possible so non-drivers beg driving family or friends to take them everywhere.
Is it possible to make it more unappealing?

Re: Digital Spy Watch News and Information Board

Is it wrong for me to be concerned about the "Best Boobs on TV" thread in TV Shows UK? There's something creepy about it. I think it's been mentioned on here before? The likes of DVDfever and stv viewer 'contribute' to the most inane thread on DS. Yet xenophobia, racism and libel are fine...

Re: The next big leader?

no penalties for single-occupancy of large vehicles, no tax penalties for 4x4s, SUVs or crossovers etc. That won't get cars off the road, they'll all just drive Fiestas and 206s instead. ... which would be an improvement From a green POV yes. But it wouldn't cut the chronic congestion problems we h...

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

In CWilliams1976 World, ITV is funded by the regional tax. So a license fee but even more bollocks. His greatest moment has to be that time on Transdiffusion when, on an article expressing concerns at how his mocks were distorting history, he publicly asked the author for naked pictures. I'm no gay ...
