Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

I appreciate they're no Nisa, but adding a dozen or so new stores to an existing operation does give you a bit of a saving on starting from scratch.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Do they make a profit? I only ever get a chance to visit them off-peak, and they're generally only as busy as a neighborhood Tesco Express seems to be, and on a similar staffing level. The technology must be a bit of a higher overhead, but I assumed the supply chain side shared a bit with Whole Food...

Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread

in this case, it wasn't them. But I did recently open an HSBC account online (for the bonus), and transferred some money in to the account (for the bonus), then back out again, to a different one of my accounts. This triggered some sort of fraud alert, and for the transaction to go through, I had to...

Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread

Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region

I feel like it's not worth booking trains any more as you can't be sure that they're not going to strike and the trains are even going to run. with some train operators, it's bad enough even without the industrial action - you can't put all the blame on the RMT. Also bear in mind they're not doing ...

Re: E-bike rental

Is HumanForest still going? I see their bikes showing up in Citymapper, but none in their own app, and any time I try to scan one I get a 'bike not found' error. I tried Dott today (same bikes, different colour). Though also learned to my cost that it can be a bit of a frustrating experience if you'...
