Re: English only:

The way some little Englanders talk its as if Scot and Wales don't pay taxes. I know all business rates get lumped into one big pool and then distributed around the country,. I have no issue we are all Brits and we should look after our own first. If that means Scotland gets something England dosen...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

Nor me. Interstate was the best thing that ever happened to Sainsburys, they should stick to it. I love that fun cartoon font they use. Is that a custom one or is it commercial? Only used internally now, I think it's a custom one but I have the TTF file *somewhere*. I absolutely hate any off-brand ...

SBURYS

We don't have a dedicated Sainsbury's thread :( but I noticed the other day that Sainsbury's have begun the process of updating their SELs with a different font (the serif one they now use in their current advertising campaign). DON'T LIKE. [/b] Nor me. Interstate was the best thing that ever happe...

designed to reflect the British heritage of the brand A company registered on the NYSE and formed through the amalgamation of 2 companies on the NYSE (and before that several smaller companies, mostly on foreign stock exchanges). Precisely what British heritage are they talking about? Looks icky if...

Re: The *OFFICIAL* Asda thread

When you mention the ancient IBM terminals taking 15 minutes to restart - you aren't lying! I was once in ASDA in Sheffield and the power cut out for a brief 5 seconds - every cash register in the building reset and it took around 15 minutes for them to return. Huge queues were building up and even...

Re: The *OFFICIAL* Asda thread

I don't get your point on creating space for new lines. Isn't this exactly what Morrisons are doing (operation something or other?)?

Is it just me, or are these mostly repackaged existing products?

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

These sort of problems exist across the board though, unfortunately :( you just have to have your wits about you and exile any sort of default logic you may believe exists. Sainsbury's are the worst with this, in my opinion - they have lots of "Bigger Pack, Better Value" marked stuff like ...

Re: "Namby Pamby Day"

The WAG are ahead of the game on this one. I feel kind of sorry for the chip shops and what not who might suffer the burden of the admin but it's definitely the right way forward.

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

Interesting. I've yet to see it myself, but JS have been experimenting with a "Fresh Kitchen" counter too (not to be confused with the City-shops they're also trialling with the same name). So far I think it's only gone in XXL stores (which apparently does not include the reduced-size Sava...
