Re: Another High Street Rebrand

Costcutter revived Kwik Save two years ago, but they didn't bring back the old logo. This is the current one. http://static3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120703070660/logopedia/images/thumb/c/c0/Kwik_Save_2012_logo.png/640px-Kwik_Save_2012_logo.png Maybe that branch of B&M closed down, and when the ...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Well, someone didn't see Morrisons' recent sales figures then. They've been losing ground on the other supermarkets due to their website not having an online store... so which idiot at HMV thought getting rid of theirs was a good idea? I think this is a sign of trouble. They also tried to fob off my...

Re: The *OFFICIAL* Asda thread

Spotted yet *another* redesign of Smart Price packaging last time I was in Asda. White and orange - possibly Walmart inspired? http://static4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140116082930/logopedia/images/3/34/ASDA_Smart_Price_2014.png White and ORANGE? Funny, this got posted on the Logopedia wiki, and the...

Re: The *OFFICIAL* Asda thread

Spotted yet *another* redesign of Smart Price packaging last time I was in Asda. White and orange - possibly Walmart inspired? I wonder if they'd eventually rebrand Asda as Walmart (a few stores are dual-branded already)? Using the Walmart colour scheme on own brand products reeks of that. Wouldn't...

Re: Public Transport where you are

You imagine wrong. There used to be, but now Stagecoach does almost all services in Hull and East Yorkshire Motor Services does routes which lead into the East Riding. So Stagecoach pretty much have a monopoly here.

Re: Public Transport where you are

So, Torquay. The biggest town in the area but the main connections to the rest of the country by road and rail are a few miles away at Newton Abbot, so getting to/from there or on to neighbouring Paignton are the main two priorities for public transport. Buses are almost exclusively operated by Sta...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

That new logo is actually the original logo used in the 60s and 70s. It was replaced by what you thought was the original logo in the 1980s.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Has anyone else notice how many High Street McDonalds are closing down? The only one I've known to close was in Bromsgrove about 6 or so years ago. Also the town centre one in Redditch moved over 10 years ago, but this was due to them acquiring a new unit in the extended shopping centre. It's Burge...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

I don't know if this is related or coincidental but the local branch of Blockbuster has had its signage and fittings removed over the last few days; this could of course be the actions of the landlord keen to get the next tenant in. It's been announced that all remaining stores will be closing in t...

Another nail in the coffin for Blockbuster - the US chain is closing down.
