Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region

Just do what the Dutch do and have pay-as-you-go everywhere; and railcards for anyone who want them.

Getting rid of ticket offices before simplifying the ticketing system is a daft idea.

Re: E-bike rental

Went to Berlin recently and used the Lime e-scooters to get around some of it. They were *fun* although I guess we’re not allowed them everywhere here because all the boomers will complain. Seen they do them in specific locations although I didn’t see any when I was in London a few weeks back. Funn...

Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread

Out of interest, does Samsung Pay still have that feature that mimics magnetic swipes. I know it was touted when they launched it but I don't think it was ever used in the UK, only the US. The whole concept of that seemed so bonkers I can barely believe they invented it, but then again I guess we'r...

Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread

I hadn't realised that Ulster Bank have pulled out of the RoI market - their branches all close for good next week. Meanwhile, I've finally received my Child & Co Mastercard. It's not as classy looking as it could be, partly because of the card number/text being on the front, but mostly because ...

Here's some great archive footage from 1986 - I *think* it's of the Cameron Toll SavaCentre in Edinburgh.

Re: Steve Wright leaves the Afternoon

It's the final weekend for the Scottish 'City 2' stations. The schedules on their websites list 'Greatest Hits Radio is coming' from 7pm on Sunday then continue with the current schedule from 6am on Monday - I guess at this point the stations cease to be, and you have to refer to the GHR website for...

That's exactly what happens though - TfL warn that you have to use the same payment method to start and end your journey . The subtle difference is that if I sign in to my TfL contactless account, and enter the physical card number, it will also show another 'card' for the virtual card number associ...
