Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

I suppose they've had to change the format a bit depending on where the store is located. The first trial stores got all their fresh products like bread and meat made at a main store, and then shipped out to the Locals. Plus these trial stores were situated fairly close to a main Morrisons store. We...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

There's now a lovely amount of inconsistency with fonts now. Preprinted advertising is now coming in using the Mary Ann font, SELS are using the Slab font, and presumably will continue to do so, as the design has only recently been changed to the current one. Then any store produced barkers and othe...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

The logo is appearing on all the advertising signage at the moment, but not on building signage. The receipt header is yet to be updated as well, so that's still got the old stacked version of the slogan on. There's also a new custom drawn font which is being used on all advertising, which is called...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

There's a planning application in for a Lloyds TSB near me to become a Lloyds. The signage was Lloyds on a solid green background, with the horse still making an appearance. http://eplanning.birmingham.gov.uk/Northgate/DocumentExplorer/documentstream/documentstream.aspx?name=public:0901487a8119dcc3....

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

A few weeks ago I was in Ashbourne, in Derbyshire, and their branch of Sainsbury's is still an old "J Sainsbury" branch, looks like it was last refurbed circa 1997. Although one of the fire exits and "reduced to clear" sections still has signs in the late 80s/early 90s style. ht...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

I've seen a picture of what it's going to look like now, and it does look pretty decent. There's text based graphics on the doors (in the new font of course) about Think 25 and about the legislation.

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

It means that too many packets will be visible to the public at once, and thus breaks the rules.

An article about a Tesco store that's got them installed... http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/C ... story.html

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

I imagine they'll just be covered with Think 25 advertising, and such like. They're going to take a bit of getting used to, as you'll have to remember which door certain brands are behind. Also if there are 2 customers being served at once, only one door can be opened at once.

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

They're putting 3 or 4 doors in front of the current display, which you can open to get something out and then close again straight after.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Lucky that the majority of stores were yet to have their signage changed to reflect the new logo then.

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Tesco only use large Barker cards for end of aisle promotions now though, so all promotional advertising in an aisle will be on a normal sized SEL.
