Re: Will the UK ever adopt DAB+?

DAB is a ridiculously outdated technology and in my opinion becomes entirely obsolete with the introduction of 4G. Someone brave needs to make a decision to switch it off. That's going to be particularly difficult for the BBC, given it has encouraged people to buy DAB radios, and spent fortunes on D...

Re: The Coffee Thread

Is there a reason why none of these places, with their no doubt weeks of intensive training that must surely be required to become a "barista", can make an acceptable cup of tea?

Re: Jubilee weekend: really who cares?

If you're moaning, don't worry. It is highly unlikely there will be another Diamond Jubilee in your lifetime. Hopefully you can just about manage to put up with the extra day off, no matter how inconvenient it is for you.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Hard to understand how Clintons is in serious trouble as the margins on the shit they sell is enormous. Worked in a stationers years ago and (as an example) they bought in fancy gift bows at 4p and sold them for £1.95.

I mean, how much does it cost to print a card they sell for £3?!

Re: The end of the line for fixed line broadband?

I would like to see the end of the requirement of paying £12 a month for a phone line I don't use in order to get a broadband connection. Lobby to get your area cabled. I get (up to) 30MB for £17 a month no phone line required on my Virgin connection. No mission. Virgin has no interest in extending...

Re: The end of the line for fixed line broadband?

BT has informed me it can now offer me 76MB broadband on my fibre line. I'm not sure if that's necessary but it's certainly not available on the 2G mobile phone network here. I would like to see the end of the requirement of paying £12 a month for a phone line I don't use in order to get a broadband...

Re: The National Minimum Wage

working for £6.08 with the possibility of maybe getting £6.35 if I do a ton of extra shit to get promoted? No way. I think you'll find that's an issue these days no matter what level of the pay scale you're on. "Promotions" are hardly worth going for because the pressure on wage inflation...

Have I said this before or did I just think it?

Who would want to "like" Juan Sheet off of the kitchen roll adverts? They suggest that you do on the advert endboard. I mean, really?!
