Nothing could beat a quarter pounder with cheese that had been stuck in the production bin for way over the 10 minute maximum holding time. Hot all the way through and the cheese just oozing.

Re: Adverts that irritate and entertain
Urgh: Ads during podcasts read out unconvincingly by the hosts of other podcasts you've never heard of, advertising products you're not interested in. Usually along the lines of:
"Hi, it's Milly and Tilly here from the 'Mummy Drinks Wine' podcast, and we wanted to let you know about a special ...

Have John Lewis got close to the holy grail of retro Christmas lights?

Re: Baffling local news stories
I've not read the Edinburgh Evening News for years due to their awful website (and whingy reporting), but today I noticed this front page appearing on BBC Scotland's online paper review:

If you go into the Current accounts section on the website you can see each account and it's card colour.BBC TV Centre wrote: Sat 07 Oct, 2023 10.02I wonder if this generic image on the site is what our cards might look like in future:

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
Slightly off topic, but related. Here in Edinburgh, I noticed that the closed-down M&S Outlet shop at Meadowbank Retail Park has been taken over by Home Bargains. This will mean B&M, Home Bargains and Poundland are all directly next to each other in a row at this location.

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
I noticed that M&S Foodhall have replaced plastic carrier bags with paper ones now. I've not tried them as I brought my own plastic 'bags for life' that I've been using for ages.
I'm not against the change, but I guess I won't get new plastic bags when my 'bags for life' wear out now - which would ...
