Re: Decision '17

At the same time, a really strong Conservative government is not something I particularly want to see. I really like Nicola Sturgeon so wish I lived in Scotland! Speaking of which, I saw some tweets earlier which suggested again that Labour is ruling out any sort of pact with the SNP, which I think...

Re: Decision '17

If I was a Labour MP I would vote this down, I think there must either think its the only way of getting rid of their leader or I have no idea. There can't claim, she only doing this for her own means then happily vote to allow it to happen. An opposition not wanting an election ? They'd lose (even...

Re: Decision '17

Interesting times. Weak Labour, UKIP a spent political force, a potential resurgent Lib Dems.

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

Krispy Kreme was indeed an April Fool.

Seems that April Fools are no longer what they used to be. In that they can go out on March 30th.

Re: US Election

Democrats picked the wrong candidate and mis judged the current political mood. They needed a populist not an elitist candidate. Sanders would have likely delivered a different outcome.

Re: 24/7 Society

Presumably for the same reason why Tesco scaled back the 24/7 opening of many of its stores. There just isn't the economic demand.

Re: The next big leader?

Well as I understood it we now have fixed term parliaments so May cannot just call an election. She could put a motion to propose one and it would require a 2/3 majority of the house to vote for it. Despite Labour's public call for an election there can hardly be many privately that would relish the...

Re: The next big leader?

And so it came to pass..... ;) 24th May in the BIG Metropoll thread : I think it's time up for Cameron whichever way the vote goes. His position becomes untenable if its leave, and there is no way he can unite the Tories if its remain. The spectacle of a Tory leadership to look forward to. It won't ...

Re: The BIG MetroPoll - IN or OUT ?

So the best that Labour can come up with is Angela Eagle. She failed in her own bid for deputy leader 10 months ago and her constituency party support Corbyn.
