I mean it’s probably different people posting, but I find it odd over there the contrast between the relative glee at the gobbling up of local radio stations by Bauer, Global etc, vs the horror at the idea of BBC Local Radio cutting back.

I’ve long since made peace with the fact that the majority over there dislike any form of change, and live in a world where nothing other than ploughing on with linear tv channels - when viewing and consumption is increasingly elsewhere - is even remotely acceptable.

I’m not exactly well versed in these things, but could they in theory link a railcard to a payment card and automatically apply the appropriate discount at the tap in/out?

I fully support the removal of ticket offices. If there’s a ticket office there, people will queue for it. If there isn’t, they’re forced to find the alternative. Went to Berlin recently and used the Lime e-scooters to get around some of it. They were *fun* although I guess we’re not allowed them everywhere here because all the boomers will complain. Seen they do them in specific locations although I didn’t see any when I was in London a few weeks back.

I will add - it does annoy me we don’t have a standard style. Bradford recently had digital screens installed which are different to any others I’ve seen elsewhere. TSK.
