Re: Another High Street Rebrand

Well, the plot thickens! Looks like Ireland actually has the new logo, Fanta branding and the "pineapple and grapefruit" design from the mid-noughties version! I assume they must never have rebranded back from that design when the UK did, and this has been carried over rather than brought ...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

Noticed yesterday that Lilt is now "by Fanta". Feels like this is either a stepping stone to it becoming Fanta Pineapple & Grapefruit or one of those branding moves that'll be reversed in six months' time. Pretty uninspiring design, and definitely doesn't scream "totally tropical&...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

Just did a shop using a 5x points in-app offer (the second one I've used in three weeks), and was presented with a paper coupon for another 5x points on next shop (but with a higher threshold). Very odd to be doing pretty much the same promotion on paper and in-app. I also had a few products that ha...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

Do you recall the replacement Preston Grange Presto that was around for about two years? That was an odd decision. For reference the original Preston Grange shopping arcade (supposedly from which the name Presto was coined) was demolished and Argylle made the odd decision to build a replacement Pre...

Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread

Tried to order a hamburger at Burger King yesterday, only to be told they no longer have a Saver Menu because of Covid. "The only way to get a hamburger is to buy a kid's meal." So... they have the burgers but selling one to me without fries and a Capri-Sun is somehow impossible. What a wo...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

Taking things sightly back on topic, I passed a local Sainsbury's Local today and noticed they had a new fascia with a darker shade of maroon. No opening times on it, either. My local...Local had the same treatment last week. It's a pretty unpleasant colour up close. https://up.metropol247.co.uk/05...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

Wasn't the best logo one of the few remaining bits of Safeway still in use? It was! Here's the original (from rdobbie on page 87 of this thread): https://up.metropol247.co.uk/rdobbie/thebest1.jpg Sad to see it go after about 20 years on and off. I was just thinking the other day how good it still l...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

Well, that's hideous. mIxEd CAsE logos are bad enough, but making the letters all the same height makes me want to poke my eyes out. It looks like the logo for a Live & Kicking segment from 1995.

gottago wrote: Sat 19 Sep, 2020 17.46 The oddest part of the advert is the "Pocket tap four times" bit. At least I think that's what he's saying, the audio's so bad and it's such a random bit that I can't be sure.
"It's a pocket tap for our times."

Yeah, it's a dreadful campaign.

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

That's another thing that varies from shop to shop. Asda can't do them on Google Pay, but I've had several refunds from Sainsbury's on it.

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

Same in Asda (last time I was there a few months ago, at least). Had to get them to split my scan & go shop into two, which was a right old palaver.
