Re: what's your poison?

Gavin, may I suggest Somersby Cider from Carlsberg? No artificial sweetners, flavourings or preservatives. It has become my cider of choice.

In the local, though, it's Wye Valley Butty Bach - a few pints of which have gone down very well after work this evening!

Re: Coffee

Four or five mugs of Gold Blend a day, 1.5 slightly heaped teaspoons per mug, plus either a Starbucks, Costa or M&S Cafe Latte when I am out in a City or Town. Usually have last around 8pm, unless I've been out at a meeting or event in the evening, when I'll almost always have one when I get ho...

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

Out of curiosity, just checked that Twitter feed, then clicked through to the Facebook page. Now I feel slightly odd in a nauseous way - as if I'm too old to be looking. Ewww.

Personal phone - as Nick's above, however for my work's shopfloor phone, it's the Business News music from the ITN News Channel.

Re: Adverts that irritate and entertain

An irritation - when audio is edited to remove the very brief gaps between words in voiceovers such as in the current ad for Sensodyne toothpaste. It sounds unnatural, rapid and breathless in its delivery. Not a technique I like.

Re: Adverts that irritate and entertain

I've just seen the new thetrainline.com ad with the panicking passengers - far better than Black Lace.

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

My understanding of a subtitle is that it goes beneath a title - which in this case it obviously does. I would agree the placing of the forum title on the second line is debatable.

Re: Metropol logo

A vaguely related comment - having re-installed Windows, then added in a couple of extra thousand fonts, it's interesting to see how differently websites are rendered when not using default fonts. On that, Metropol and Facebook render quite nicely when Lucida Grande is installed : http://font.pendow...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

It's because most people are gormless and have no clue about graphic design. Oh yes. Plus they then fail to put the corporate font on the computers meaning you have to rely on arial. More usually Times New Roman where I work... Thankfully I have the staff in the store I work in trained to either as...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

I walked past the recall notice for Fruit Shoot in Tesco today, and I noticed light blue SELs for the missing juice - are they used for anything else, or for only that specific purpose? You're right - they're for 'EPWs' - emergency product withdrawals. Info on the back of the label tells the replen...
