Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

sales have dropped because they've been closing stores This is what always gets me: the surprise that fewer people will shop in your stores if you close them down. It’s a surprise to the media who still did the story despite profits being up. They were obviously short of a negative retail story thi...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

Yes various Sainsburys near me (and ones I encountered whilst on holiday) have done away with the Customer Service Desk, with the first basket till now being sign posted as customer services. Seems quite odd to do it that way, rather than moving customer services to the cig kiosk instead which would...

Re: Baffling local news stories

Woman outraged to find Spanish people in Spain. "Why can't the Spanish go somewhere else?" she demands to know. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/16414514.display/ What's funny with that story is how the writer must have it drummed it to them to ensure everyone knows its a local story about...

Re: Intu takeover called off

The stadium in Huddersfield was known as the Kirklees Stadium during planning and construction phases.

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

MMcG198 is angry again at regional accents making it to the BBC. That is one of those typical internet argument threads where nobody wins. You know where one opinion is argued against with the most extreme opposite opinion and it just goes back and forth from one to the other as if there is no othe...

Re: Intu takeover called off

Does anyone ever call any of their shopping centres intu.... ? Reason I ask is that when they acquired The Trafford Centre a few years ago, it got rebranded as intu Trafford Centre, and no one I know calls it that. I’m assuming it’s not really a strong brand? To be fair to them they haven’t really ...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

I’ve always seen Debenhams as the leading mid market department store, with House of Fraser far behind. I imagine Debenhams will continue ok, I mean the middle aged/older person, and notably the middle aged/older man have to shop somewhere. There isn’t a great deal of choice for that demographic in ...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

I think you are being a tad unfair to the Victoria Centre

It looks much nicer from the front https://goo.gl/maps/ph1r9LXzJUt

or the side https://goo.gl/maps/CHyn322oxt62

rather than the back

Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread

People pm the regional news saying that if they drop the Yorkshire Bank name they will close their account and that they’ve been a loyal customer for 30 years.

You can almost hear Martin Lewis banging his head against a wall at such reasons for being loyal
