Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

I’ve had a bit of a runny nose over the last few days, which is very unusual for me. I tend not to get many things when they’re going around. Starting to wonder if it’s been around longer than we think. My dad was taken ill over the new year and, looking back, he had a lot of the symptoms. It partic...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

My bottle of hand wash is down to about 1cm from the bottom, with none in stock in any supermarkets I’ve been to. So yeah, well done stockpilers, I’m probably going to infect you now.

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

My anxiety has dropped since Boris made his statement about the lockdown. At least I know where I stand and can still pop out briefly for food as long as I don't have the symptoms. Despite the virus itself rapidly accelerating, the whole situation feels a lot more stable since the lockdown. There w...

It's good to see DVB Cornwall vigorously exercising to Joe Wicks, we need to be looking after the elderly members of the forum.

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

And now several posters are demanding the BBC One idents be scrapped because the people in them aren't social distancing or staying at home. And not even ironically. https://media0.giphy.com/media/XsUtdIeJ0MWMo/giphy.gif I don’t think I’ve seen anyone demanding anything. Fine to point out how silly...

I usually find that the non-news content on NHK World is good for a bit of gentle inconsequential factual telly, though the other night turned it on and they were visiting people in the area evacuated after Fukushima, so it's not infallible.
Smithsonian Channel is good for the same.

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

I don’t think it’s unreasonable for people to attempt some form of building up their supplies when there is so much uncertainty. For all the talk from supermarkets that they have enough stock and there’s no need to panic - constant empty shelves suggest otherwise. Many of us, myself included, have ...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

I think it’s weird because we have nothing tangible as a reason for everything we’re doing. Very few of us know anybody affected right now. We’re not seeing people keeling over in the street. This is why I think it was important that we “followed the science” a bit longer rather than knee jerk react...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

Agree that most plans for closure aren’t nearly long enough. Disneyland Paris is closed until 2nd April. There’s absolutely no way they’ll be able to open then, especially given it’ll be the start of the Easter holidays. In 2 weeks time things will be worse than now. It’s going to be June/July at th...

How was the casserole?
Delicious. Garlic and lemon juice are the secret ingredients you need.
